Focus on Le Grand Hôtel Cayré, Paris | Report

Le Grand Hôtel Cayré | by Julie Kirkup

October 2024

I was lucky enough to test out this week the hotel we shall be using for our Paris Nouveau tour next June and with its combination of historic charm, modern amenities and a prime location, I have no doubts that our clients will have a very comfortable stay!

Le Grand Hôtel Cayré, an historic establishment located in the heart of the chic Saint-Germain-des-Prés district in Paris, has been a symbol of Parisian elegance since it first opened its doors in 1920. After a significant renovation, the hotel was

completely refurbished and reopened to the public in July 2024.

Among its distinguished former residents is Annette Kolb, a Holocaust survivor and acclaimed writer who made the hotel her home for many years. To honour her legacy, the hotel's signature restaurant has been named after her.  The brasserie serves contemporary French cuisine overseen by Bruno Brangea, a former chef for Alain Ducasse and where we shall enjoy our first group meal together.  Each morning a continental breakfast is served directly to the table offering a choice of hot drink,  juices and eggs, with a basket of viennoiserie.

The rooms at the Grand Cayre have been meticulously designed and beautifully finished, offering guests a luxurious stay with every modern comfort. Features include luxury bed linen, tea and coffee facilities, a minibar, a safe and a range of personal care items such as bathrobes, slippers hairdryer, magnifying mirror and toiletries.

With its excellent location near to the Quai d'Orsay for a stroll along the Seine, and many brasseries and bars within walking distance, I cannot hesitate to recommend this hotel and I am sure that our stay at the Grand Cayré will be very enjoyable.
